  1. Iโ€™ve been eating 50 to 60 blueberries and one banana about five days a week for almost four years. I donโ€™t remember having any gut issues when I started. I had most issues from raw greens. Iโ€™m eating more now, esp in smoothies.

I like smoothies & used to have 4-5 a week but now I just have them occasionally because I read that blitzing the fruit gives the body a massive sugar hit in one go, without the fibre to slow down the absorption so itโ€™s better to eat the whole fruit instead of drinking it. Also if the fibre is for feeding our gut microbes rather than feeding us, doesnโ€™t a smoothie take away that advantage because itโ€™s liquidised?

  4. Good stuff as usual! One of the easy things I do that is quick…cook a can of beans (typically black beans) with a can of corn. Top off with guacamole sometimes, but always including salsa. You can get beans in bags and soak the night before, and try to get organic. This has helped my gut & psoriasis/ecema to a degree. Experiment to see what works!

  5. The doc says that fat slows the rate at which food leaves stomach. Then he says that Gerd is caused by the food sitting in stomach and the longer it sits there the more time the acid has to splash back into esophagus. WTF? People are going to buy this garbage just cause the dude has MD?

  8. I have totally improved my gut bacteria and health by eating plamt based diet and included barley pomegranate juice and yes the green smoothies cranberries dark chocolate at least 70 percent cacao kiwifruit give it a go and dont forget the beans…
