  1. One question that I cannot seem to find a clear & simple answer to – In the course of preparing to move (from the US) & before a temporary residency is granted or even applied for, can a person come & go on a tourist’s visa?

Example – I fly down & spend 10 days checking out the coastal region & go home. Then in a month or two I fly down & spend 10 days or a couple of weeks checking out the Sierra region & go home. Without regard to the cost of traveling back & forth (which is my problem), can I legally come & go like that & total up 90 days in-country within a year of first entry?

I don’t remember where, but somewhere or another I saw a suggestion that once you enter & leave on a tourist visa, you can’t go back for a year.

It seems like a simple question, but I simply haven’t been able to find any clarity on this.

    Any help? Thanks.

P.S. Still looking for an Ecuadorian Approved university list. Purdue would just about have to be on it, but I would like to see that before I start bugging the registrar’s office.

    Thanks again.

  2. Thanks a mill Jesse. I like Ecuador better and better!!
You were talking about land as a property…I am interested in knowing what, if anything, you know about the law about rights for nature and, if it is mentioned in the contract when/if buying land?
I am at present, waiting for a copy of this law from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London….I read about some court cases regarding mining in Ecuador which I find interesting..and this law is very interesting and good…remind me of the "Declaration in Human Rights" and, reading about these mining cases from Ecuador, made me think, – if cases about human rights had to be dealt with the same way as these mining-cases in Ecuador were, might be an improvement for the declaration on human rights…humans are part of nature, right 😊
I know this is a bit off topic (I am still waiting for it to be sent to me) ..but having just seen this excellent law in action from Ecuador just made my brain-motor start up 😊

  3. You didn't talk about Social Security ..How much you have to make to enter the country and never talk about health insurance for seniors…the cost for health insurance…Tell us about Both Social Security and health insurance….Saying it again how much money for Social security to enter the country….
