Why Kombucha Makers Spend Millions to Make the Drink Less Boozy | Big Business
Anywhere from 1% to 3% alcohol by volume naturally occurs in kombucha. That’s because the tea is fermented. But the current …

The ceo defintly has vanir teeth and some surgical work on his face you can blatantly see it its sad people feel ugly in their bodies I get it I have chronic dry mouth and about 7 of my teeth have fallen out and I'm in my 30's
Owner dude that has the 50% market share looks shady AF! I hope the law passes so more people can thrive and knock this guy off his high horse!!
Damn this is the definition of a first world problem
I've definately gotten one of those old bottles that made me a bit buzzed before. I would buy more of those if I could!
no kids are going to drink kombucha. who gives their kids tea? tea has caffeine and kids have enough energy as it is.
sht is so nasty
Each and every part of this video is about bureaucratic compromise and an excellent example of when it fails..
This makes me want to go to the store an buy one of their black label kombuchas xD
0:22 Yeah, bullshit. My sister was unaware of this and tried some, she's 4 years sober so she absolutely felt the effects of the alcohol. Saying that no person would feel 1-3% is false.
GT DAVEEEEEEEEE
The stuff smells like a dry beer in a dumpster.
Kombucha is trash
Just make it at home π
Really? Wow. It's literally the smallest amount of alcohol ever. Same amount that's in non-alcoholic drinks. I was thinking of learning to brew my own anyway.
if kombucha has sugar how can it be healthy? hmmm
So your telling me this drink will be cheaper as a bud light brand?
Probiotics are a farce. This whole industry is based on lie that alcohol is actually good for you.
Maybe it's just me, but I've tried kombucha once, and I thought it was pretty damn gross. I'd have a hard time naming a single soft drink that's more disgusting to me.
"i dont want my kids drinking something with 1% alcohol in it"
ffs, as if any kid would drink any kombucha, let alone enough to feel any sort of effect. the whole world doesn't need to be baby safe.
Oh holy regulations!??!! Theyβll target alcohol ads to draw in younger people, but canβt allow even a tiny percentage to be sold without getting their $$. I appreciate that the makers are working to keep it a healthy fermented juice, rather than an alcoholic drink.π My grandchildren love kombucha.
Me after drinking kombucha in 7th grade and finding out itβs 0.002% ABV
βloooookβ¦ teacher there is like, no way Iβm going to yknow remember whtt you just saidd. Can you you ljke explain it again, but slower????β¦β¦β¦β..β
It startles me that people like this drink. I am an avid tea drinker and i generally love fermented foods, but i find that kombucha tastes like garbage water-like literally the juices that collect at the bottom…. I mean, to each their own if you like it- that was just my experience. I just can't believe that there's such a huge market for it. I mean so many other delicious smelly fermented foods struggle to find a market, but the thing i just cannot understand, in spite of my palette, is crazy popular? You know what im saying? I mean, power to ya and good luck…
Add sugar… never-ending fall…π π
So much wrong stuff in this video
As a sober person I don't mess with kombucha
You cannot just create exceptions as you wish. If kombucha can have 1.2% alcohol and sell as a non-alcoholic beverage, then others with same ABV would also want the same. Creating any alcohol product is a natural process (i.e. fermentation), so asking an exception for one specific product among them is not how a fair market works.
"I dunno, I always just feel better after drinking kombucha"
Of course you do, you're a teensy bit buzzed.
You know that life in America is pretty good when politicians are focused on creating laws to increase the percentage of alcohol in "kombucha."
Can I get a 10 gallon bucket of that sweet tea before you ruin it sugar?
When they're calling a "light" beer 4.2%… You know light mostly means in carbs/calories right? A 4.2+% beer is considered a "heavy". A ~3.5% is considered a mid strength. ~2.5% is considered a light beer. I think the problem is kids being able to buy kombucha and getting pissed on it. Can you get drunk on 3% ABV? Yes, too drunk to drive.
so they just arrest the fermentation….its not just a technicality. But what do i know.
It tasted terrible for me. I thought it was going bad and so I poured it down the drain.
This is ridiculous… if people wanted to get drunk, they wouldn't drink kombucha.
