Ponzi Schemer Bernie Madoff’s Sister, Husband Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

The sister of Democrat donor and infamous Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff and her husband were found dead last Thursday in a suspected murder-suicide.

According to Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office, the couple, 87-year-old Sondra Wiener of Boynton Beach and her 90-year-old husband, Marvin, were found unresponsive inside of their home.

The two were deceased with gunshot wounds in what detectives say was a murder-suicide, the Associated Press reported.

According to the Miami Herald, Bernie Madoff reportedly stole millions of dollars from his own sister Sondra Wiener.

The Wieners were forced to downsize their home in 2009 after being scammed by Madoff.

Sondra and Marvin Wiener were sued by the trustee representing Madoff’s victims, alleging that they “received at least $1,715,000 of other people’s money,” the Sun-Sentinel reported in 2010.

Bernie Madoff died in federal prison at the age of 82 while serving a 150 year sentence last April.

Madoff’s investment business turned out to be the largest Ponzi scheme in Wall Street’s history.

Madoff defrauded thousands of investors and charities out of billions of dollars for decades.

“Over the years, court-appointed trustees laboring to unwind the scheme have recovered more than $14 billion of an estimated $17.5 billion that investors put into Madoff’s business. At the time of Madoff’s arrest, fake account statements were telling clients they had holdings worth $60 billion.” AP reported.
