Keith Olbermann Wants Tucker Carlson And Tulsi Gabbard Arrested By The Military For Being ‘Russian Assets’

Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann accused Tucker Carlson and decorated Iraq War veteran and former Democratic Representative Tulsi Gabbard of being “Russian assets” who need to be arrested by the military.

Olbermann’s commentary represent an unhinged level that, perhaps not surprisingly, were not limited to him.

The liberal pundit was responding to a video of panelists on “The View” who, earlier in the day, suggested Carlson and Gabbard be investigated by the Department of Justice.

“I think DOJ, in the same way that is setting up a task force to investigate [Russian] oligarchs, should look into people who are Russian propagandists and shilling for Putin,” host Ana Navarro said. “If you are a foreign asset to a dictator it should be investigated.”

The conversation was initiated based on a reportedly leaked memo from the Kremlin suggesting Russia “use as much as possible fragments of broadcasts of the popular Fox News host Tucker Carlson.”

While most people would see a clip of somebody suggesting a political pundit and private citizens or veterans expressing their opinions be investigated by the DOJ and immediately recoil in horror, Keith Olbermann instead amped up the rhetoric, calling for totalitarian Fascist or Communist measures.

“They are Russian Assets and there is a war,” he alleged. “There’s a case for detaining them militarily. Trials are a sign of good faith and patience on the part of democracy.”

There is absolutely no case for detaining people who object to war (the U.S. is not in one) or question the government unless you, yourself are trying to emulate dictators like Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The fact that these left-wing lunatics throw around the idea that the federal government should squash free speech or that the military should try people with opposing views for practical war crimes is beyond the pale.

Common Cause With Mitt Romney

Yes, nothing quite promotes ‘democracy’ like calling for using the military against people who express different political beliefs.

While we expect this kind of rhetoric from Olbermann, it shows just how closely aligned the far-left and the supposedly more centered RINOs in the GOP are.

There isn’t much difference between what Olbermann said and what Senator Mitt Romney charged Gabbard with earlier in the week.

Romney accused Gabbard of being a Russian asset and spreading “treasonous lies” after she claimed there are “U.S. funded” bio labs in Ukraine that could be a very real danger if targeted in war.

Gabbard later fired back and demanded Romney apologize and resign.

“Senator Romney, please provide evidence that what I said is untrue and treasonous,” she insisted. “If you cannot, you should do the honorable thing: apologize and resign from the Senate.”

Romney also shares common cause with disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok, who implied Carlson and Gabbard are Russian propagandists.

Strzok, one could argue, has been more active against the interests of the United States government than just about anybody.

In 2017, Olbermann announced that he was retiring from political commentary.

“I’ve made my point,” he said. “I’d like to go back and enjoy some of my life again.”

That retirement was clearly short-lived.

He reportedly requested to sit in for MSNBC host Rachel Maddow while she is on hiatus but, according to the Daily Beast, Maddow “stepped in to personally veto him as her successor.”
