Pelosi Claims GOP Is Conducting A ‘Legislative Continuation’ Of Capitol Riot
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused Republicans of conducting a “legislative continuation” of the Capitol riot since January 6th.
Pelosi made the comments during an interview with CBS’ “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan on Sunday.
“What the Republicans are doing across the country is really a legislative continuation of what they did on January 6, which is to undermine our democracy, to undermine the integrity of our elections, to undermine the voting power, which is the essence of a democracy,” she claimed.
“So, we have to do that bill,” the California Democrat said referencing the For The People Act, legislation which has been described by critics as a federal takeover of elections.

All Capitol Riot All The Time
The Capitol riot was such a devastating assault on America that the Democrat response has been to push legislation to nationalize elections, expand vote-by-mail, and weaken voter ID laws.

Makes sense.
It’s such a heinous attack, comparable in their minds to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor, that the only thing they can think to do is … take advantage of the crisis politically.
It goes to show you how unserious the Democrats are.
Pelosi: Republicans are engaged in ‘legislative continuation’ of January 6 Capitol riot by opposing Dem voting bills. She is saying increasingly outrageous stuff because 1) she doesn’t have any other argument to make, and 2) media doesn’t challenge her. https://t.co/GGkeC7pDwB pic.twitter.com/5IUSdloFyh

President Biden, on the anniversary of the January 6 riot, made a fiery speech in which he also pivoted to a plea to reform voting in America.
After accusing former President Trump and his supporters of having a “twisted” view of events from that day, he suggested they are “un-American” for trying to “suppress votes.”
“Right now, in state after state, new laws are being written not to protect the vote, but to deny it. Not only to suppress the vote, but to subvert it,” Biden said.
The President had the audacity to make such a claim after boasting that a record 150 million Americans voted in the 2020 election, even as a pandemic was raging at the time.
An election in which 81 million Americans voted for him.
President Biden: “The former president and his supporters have decided the only way for them to win is to suppress your vote and subvert our elections. It’s wrong, it’s undemocratic and frankly, it’s un-American.” https://t.co/2hR9E44Plh pic.twitter.com/sP2Pw6YMW8

Out Of Control Rhetoric
Pelosi (D-CA) has been amping up the theatrics around the anniversary of the Capitol riot, preying on people’s emotions rather than dealing with the reality that January 6 was little more than a riot that got out of control.
In remembrance of that day, she held a moment of silence for police officers who defended the Capitol, none of which died on January 6th, with one even having been killed months later by a Nation of Islam follower.
Additionally, Pelosi provided an incredibly cringe-worthy moment by having the cast of Hamilton sing via Zoom call during the day’s events.
The Democrats invited the cast of Hamilton to sing for the J6 anniversary.

Pelosi later held a candlelight vigil on the Capitol steps along with other Democrats to honor the “heroes” of the Capitol who “lost their lives and sacrificed” on January 6.
By focusing on voter reform to benefit their own party, one could argue that it’s actually Democrats who are conducting a “legislative continuation” of the Capitol riot.
If not that, then certainly a continuation of the election concerns which sparked the protest in the first place.
