  10. Regarding sustained sanctions and Putin's perseveration of extended brutality toward Ukraine, Unfortunately a Russia's population, as has been normal throughout history, largely blames external influences for suffering.
    This means that Russia will favor a rabid nationalist. We saw this in 1918-1945 Germany.
    The wiser actions following the1939-45 war, of assisting defeated and collapsed nations, would effectively change Russia's relationship with the world, but only if another dictator were not chosen by Russia.

  11. In reality, Lenin crushed 3 years of attempted Ukraine autonomy , as factions, some external, fought there during its attempt at democratic rule since 1917. Russia /Soviet Union took it over violently.
    Of course Ukraine, with Belarus and Poland still having closest languages was long ago VERY separate from Novgorod/Muscovy, whose language was and remains so different that they are MUCH farther apart than mere dialect.
    Think of the vast difference between Ukrainian: Східний – Skhidnyy, and Russian Vostok, both mean East. Захід , Zakhid, Rus: Zapad – West.
    Bulgaria and Romania seem firm in their desire for Ukraine success. Italian government did not respond so well .

    Should Russia choose to expend precision aerial weapons, Ukraine will need Electronic jamming preventive mobile weapons. I am appalled, that Putin has chosen this atrocity and invasion. Putin cannot be decisively defeated by other nation, as in now-ancient wars, because he would fire thousands of nuclear weapons, destroying earth's habitability by animals, plants,climate, for decades to centuries.
    While it has been claimed that he is not a madman, he erroneously equates himself with Russia, keeping 145million people in abject ignorance.
