  1. Not sure if it's JUST the bureaucracy of the Thailand Pass, per-se. Maybe it's, significantly, the fear of testing positive upon arrival, and, with omicron, that's not a fear of severe illness (after full vaccination, and, maybe booster(s))…. it's the fear of the sheer extortionate expense that can accompany that, and the knowledge that insurance companies will put you through hoops before paying out.

  2. I worry about a mandatory 10 day quarantine in expensive hospital-grade accommodation that, if with no or typically mild symptoms, insurers won't pay for – they only pay for actual medical (not 'hotel') costs…

  3. Hi Ciaran!

    Enjoying the show as usual.

    Re: Thailand Pass.

I just wouldn't entertain the idea of coming to Thailand so long as the Thailand Pass and any test of any kind on arrival exists. I wouldn't subject myself to this nonsense to not be able to get a " legitimate " drink after 11pm.

I will come back when there is no Thailand Pass, and not one covid test for fully vaxed. Simple as that!

  4. literally fed up with the Government announcements and TAT to re-open the Country and changing it over night. even if the pass get removed tomorrow I would wait for a few months to see what would they come up with next, if they make up their mind and settle on reopening then yes I will travel to Thailand.

  5. I just came back from Thailand last week. I went with a friend and we went in December and spent 3 months there. Yes getting the thai pass was extra work but I don’t regret anything. We got our negative test result within 3 hours of checking in at our hotel. I’ve been many times before. This was easily the best trip. It was very busy – nightlife in phuket was open, but it wasn’t overcrowded like it used to be. The Thais treated us like
Royalty as they were so grateful we went to the trouble to come and visit. Can’t wait to go again in 7 months! The process was super smooth when we landed – I hope the thai pass is gone but we’ll do it again even if it’s not 🙂

  6. Definitely would go more if thailand pass was scrapped I went at Christmas both but hassle Thai par 3 pcr tests 1 night quarantine never again I'll go gladly if Thai pass scraped

  7. The Thailand Pass was a game-changer when it was first introduced but now other countries have caught up and eclipsed it by opening up completely and with no quarantine or restrictions thus making The Thailand Pass look like a thing of the past. Thai officials need to realize this and understand that their precious Thailand Pass is no longer cool.

  8. Thailand is Neutrality regarding the Russian invasion of a sovereign country Ukraine and sending a donation of 2 mill Bath to Poland to support Ukraine refugees! 2 mill = 60.000 usd! It's like pissing at the Ukraine's and at the same time telling that they smell! Awful donation, and it only tells who the thai government really supports. Handling of covid19 and now this. Good luck Thailand

  9. Tourist authority TAT are promoting Thai tourism while at the same time Immigration roll out hoops, hurdles, barbed wire & hot coals just to get in. go figure

  10. I have a question, i have corona at the moment, i heard that you can test positive long after recovery, i could fly to thailand with a positive pcr test in combination with a recovery certificate, but how about the pcr test (test and go) on the first day of arrival? Chances are i test positive (pcr) then because of an earlier infection from which i recovered , can i show my certificate of recovery or must i stay in quarantaine no matter what?

  11. Its hard to fathom how the cost of this pass can be worth it in money and health when covid is rampant in the country. It seems to be about pure stubborness.

  12. The problem for Thailand and tourism is that they place the foreigner tourist in expensive hospital/hospitel quarantine accommodation on a 'positive' test when most have negligible/no symptoms, crazy Thailand.

  13. i allways take my vacation end of july for three weeks , first one 1994,last one in 2019, if it's declared endemic in july ,and no more thailand pass and testing i go back to thailand in july for sure, needs conformation before booking.

  14. Doesn't the Thailand pass only take like 15 min to fill out? Seriously it could be a lot worst. Just come to Thailand if you want right now. It's still peak season and if you wait too long you will be waiting til November if you want the good weather again.

  15. Drop thailand pass and test more thays my predictions.
Wow there well behind most UK citizens going to bali USA Maldives Dominican Republic all blooming from none restrictions.
Whays the point changing the test still going to cost the same whays the point lmfao

  16. Minus 20,00,00,00 tourist forcast people are going to have less money now holidays aren't the first thing in there minds now thailand is going to be on its knees soon .

  17. Forget Thailand it's crap there ..they way behind rest of world…come Philippines no tests on arrival and no curfews and no restrictions on bars and restaurants which can open 24 hours
