Fox News Grills Psaki: Name One Thing Biden Has Done That’s Helped Ukraine
On Friday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki was asked by Fox News reporter Peter Doocy if she could name something – even just one thing – that the Biden administration has successfully done to help Ukraine.
The exchange took place during the White House’s daily press briefing.

Psaki: ‘Well, Peter, let me just take a step back and explain to everyone how diplomacy works’
Doocy pointedly asked the press secretary, “There’s a report in The New York Times that you guys kept asking China to help you stop Russia from invading Ukraine and they didn’t. So, what have you guys done throughout this slow-moving Russia crisis that has worked?”
The Fox News White House reporter was intent on getting a solid answer as to what the Biden administration has done that has actually helped Ukraine.
After Psaki asked for clarification, Doocy added, “Well, the President talked to Putin. He talked to the G7. He threatened sanctions. He put sanctions in place. Now he says the sanctions are going to take 30 days or about a month. Do you guys think that people in Ukraine have about a month?”

Psaki replied, seemingly condescendingly, “Well, Peter, let me just take a step back and explain to everyone how diplomacy works and how our approach from the United States has worked.”
“What the president has done is he has built a global coalition to stand up in the face of President Putin and President Putin’s aggression and invasion of Ukraine,” Psaki added.
She said the Biden administration has pressured other nations to impose “significant” sanctions against Russia. Psaki added that the U.S. is making sure Russia feels “significant pain” from its choice to invade Ukraine.”

Biden Said ‘No One Expected’ Sanctions To Prevent War
On Thursday, President Joe Biden said that “no one expected” mere sanctions to prevent the current war:
“No one expected the sanctions to prevent anything from happening. This is gonna take time, and we have to show resolve, so he knows what’s coming and so the people of Russia know what he’s brought on them. That’s what this is all about. This is gonna take time, it’s not gonna occur, he’s gonna say ‘Oh my God, these sanctions are coming I’m gonna stand down’. He’s gonna test the resolve of the west to see if we stay together, and we will.”
