Trump Unloads: Putin ‘Always Wanted Ukraine But I Said You Can’t Do It’ – Predicts Taiwan Next
On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump said he knew that Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to take Ukraine, but when he was president he wouldn’t let Russia take over the country.
He also predicted that China will make a move to capture Taiwan next.
Trump made his remarks in an interview with radio hosts Clay Travis and Buck Sexton.
TRUMP: “I knew Putin very well. I got along with him great. He liked me. I liked him. I mean, you know, he’s a tough cookie, got a lot of the great charm and a lot of pride …I knew that he always wanted Ukraine.. I said, ‘You can’t do it.’”https://t.co/6f0P9BTb1p

Trump on Putin: ‘I said, ‘You can’t do it. You’re not gonna do it’
During the interview, Trump and the hosts Travis and Sexton discussed Trump’s presidency and relationship with Russia.
Trump told the hosts:
This would never have happened if we were there. But he did. Chuck Todd asked that question. How come there was none of this happening during the Trump administration? I knew Putin very well. I got along with him great. He liked me. I liked him. I mean, you know, he’s a tough cookie, got a lot of the great charm and a lot of pride. But the way he — and he loves his country, you know? He loves his country. He’s acting a little differently I think now.

“I knew that he always wanted Ukraine,” Trump said in his interview. “I used to talk to him about it.”
On Russia invading Ukraine, Trump said he told Putin, “I said, ‘You can’t do it. You’re not gonna do it.”
“But I could see that he wanted it,” Trump said. “I used to ask him. We used to talk about it at length.”
The 45th President also made a prediction – that China is watching Biden’s response to the Ukraine crisis and champing at the bit to capture Taiwan:
They’re waiting ’til after the Olympics. Now the Olympics ended, and look at your stopwatch, right? No, he wants that just like… It’s almost like twin sisters right here because you have one that wants Taiwan, I think, equally badly. Somebody said, “Who wants it more?” I think probably equally badly. But, no, Putin would have never done it, and Xi would have never done it. And also, North Korea has not acted up for four years.

Trump Segment Gets Heat
The interview with Travis and Sexton has been making the rounds on the mainstream media, with left-leaning outlets accusing Trump of “praising” Putin for sarcastic remarks the former President made about Putin claiming his forces were “peacekeepers.”
Watch a typical example with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer:
“Republicans are blasting President Biden for being too weak on Russia, but the de facto leader of the Party is spending his time praising Vladimir Putin.” – CNN’s @WolfBlitzer reports on Trump’s recent comments on the Russian leader’s moves in Ukraine. pic.twitter.com/YO1vIQ7g9j
