  1. I kinda just had to get the plane as a small piece of Dutch aviation history, but I do hope it's going to get some more love to deal with its issues and missing functionalities.

But also for a note it does actually come with a manual and quick reference cards, but they're tucked away in the package file

  2. Vintage aircrafts are more and more interesting. Don't know how this aircraft fly but …. in real life old ones are more challenging than modern ones. This is the reason why old pilots live so much to fly vintage. If I compare a glider from the 60' and a modern one full of helps and perfect aerodynamics I imagine that aircrafts like this one were not so easy and tge balloning effect with a so thick wing is possible. An aircraft with less power is much challenging because you have to know how to preserve energy, like flying gliders.

  3. The 'Westfield Tower' – wash your bloody mouth out. It's Centrepoint which was defaced by a shopping centre magnate (ie. Westfield). How anyone allowed him to put his stupid logo there is beyond me. A two second search of Wikipedia would fill in your (sizeable) knowledge gaps.

  4. The reason the fuel lever act so strangely is (unless there has been an update I have not heard about) MSFS only models 2 fuel tanks. It probably cannot handle the idea of 3 fuel shutoffs.

  5. Tbh after the JU52 flight model, also super floaty, and the bugs in this thing and again super floaty. These are planes that are so simple in systems and relics of a golden age and it really is a shame they don't get better treatment. As they do now i rather wish they just forgo the planes together with world updates.

  6. I've had a strange bug with the triple engine versions of the F.VII in the game. After flying for a while the plane accelerates very rapidly to crazy speeds and I can't stop it.

  7. Hi. Big fan of your videos. Thanks for your hard work. So I wondered if you can share your TrackIR settings. I am simply too stupid to get mine setup properly. Yours seem spot on.

  8. Way back when a replica of the SC was built, the flying trials took place at YPPF near where I lived, over the course of a few months the SCII overflew my house on a few occasions .. it seemed to take a long time to go not very far! Amazing to view tho. In 2002 I was lucky enough to fly in a 1964 Beechcraft Twin in formation with the Southern Cross II replica over Mildura, Victoria. The SCII was indeed extremely slow, our Beechcraft pilot had full flaps, gear down and almost at stall speed and still overtook the SCII at a fair clip! Not long after the SCII was seriously damaged in a landing crash and hasnā€™t flown since. Maybe ORBX/ASOBOā€™s rendition is closer to reality than we think! šŸ™‚

  9. Terrific review! It's Centrepoint Tower. In 1944, On 22nd October, 1943, FLight Lieutenant Peter Isaacson DFC, AFC, flew Lancaster Q Queenie under the Harbour Bridge. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lancaster_Q_for_Queenie_flies_under_Sydney_Harbour_Bridge_1943.jpg You've done more with this aircraft than I could, I found it almost uncontrollable, a disgrace, really. And, your Taronga Zoo was a little too far to the east. However, a little more experience, and you'll make a very creditable tour guide! But, thank you for doing Sydney in all its glory,

  10. To the airplane, itā€™s going to be a Fok no from me. Always enjoy your videos though, best MSFS reviewer on YouTube by far. Hopefully the Milviz 310 comes out soon!

  11. Well, if you ever mistakenly called the yoke, a steering wheel, well, it's because of this model. Anyway, I love how you put in the 1920s era music with the view outside the plane. I enjoyed that. I'll hold on this purchase until it's updated. You're right, its a rush and unfinished product.

  12. Unimpressive update, just Orbx P3d Australia and some minor airstrips. Fokker is a waste of time. It looks like FS9 cockpit and fails to utilise the graphical power of MSFS! What a waste of effort! We still haven't got a "wow" aircraft simulation! I await PMDG 737 to light my fire!

  13. ORBX! Shame on you! Shame on me for buying it before this review. The textures seem early FSX in quality. No start up smoke from a smoker? I would expect a lot more slow prop spin on start up from a vintage aircraft. Exterior engine sounds are a bit weak in fact, they sound like port over from FSX. Interior modeling is FS9 at the minimum. Hmmm, must be a theme here. As for the world update Sydney, it does not compare well to the previous ORBX Sydney city package, you'll get overlap of textures. Great barrier reef seems only partially modeled. Bing needs good world update of satellite images. Oh well. I'm going back to World of Warships. LOL

  14. GREAT production and honest opinions. I like watching the vintage videos just for the appropriate music! !! !!!
Also, a bit of history at the beginning shows how dedicated you are to your channel! !! !!!

  15. Nice review as always. What an odd plane… Whilst I'm all for the XBox release, it does seem to have induced a laziness from Asobo and the nominated devs for their payware. It's almost like they know it'll sell plenty of copies to console users as it's simply something new & different. But, it's a choice – no one has a gun to their head. It's just a shame they don't feel that they need to put a bit more effort in. I mean, being blunt – it seems crap. The single prop one doesn't even want to fly having seen AvAngels review.

  16. Although the JU-52 has it's issues, it's a far superior aeroplane in terms of finish and fun to fly. The Fokker seemed to float off rather than take off whilst the single engine variant can barely get off the ground and can't climb. When you consider the amount of effort 3rd party developers put into their products for this simulator (including freeware developers), this really is insulting to buyers. As always, your review is very fair and I really did appreciate the external engine start lol. The view of Sydney looked very impressive but I now feel a bit of a fool for having purchased Orbx scenery for Kingsford Smith Airport and Sydney cityscape. Oh well, we live and learn. Loved the nostalgic music.

  17. On the glass with the gauges, at least according to (lead?) Aerosoft dev, itā€™s very hit and miss to get right. Depends a lot on the users settings and hardware, and iirc was something about if they even want to do glass because it can hinder people being able to read what the gauges say (realism be dammed).

But saying that, the original old version might not even have glass on the gauges.

  18. I noticed there is no start up smoke or oleo leg compression on touchdownā€¦not sure why Asobo is happy to release unfinished aircraft. They should be upping the standards they initially set on the sim release. Great reviews as usual. šŸ˜€

  19. Thanks again for a concise review. The Fokker F VII definately, in my opinion, has inferior graphics. We know how good the MSFS engine is in respect of graphical modelling. This looks like a hurried amateur effort, not even FSX standard more like FS9. They could have modelled the entire internal view with such accuracy, this effort is low quality. So its a no go for me! Im still awaiting a complex jetliner to fly the long Australian routes, something with a wow factor…..PMDG 737?? Ah well patience is a virutue?

  20. A review of something or other (may have been the P51, canā€™t remember. Canā€™t even remember which channel it was on) showed exhaust smoke at the startup. Thatā€™s what this thing needs to help the realism. There seems to be too many gaps, bugs, or oversights with this one. Wonā€™t be buying it. Not yet anyway.

  21. great review, Iā€™m happy to see that you share my feelings. what to say? I should have waited for your video before I made the purchase. anyway, it was ā€œonlyā€ 15$ā€¦ But I would love to redo this transaction, as I think this is really a well-polished piece of shā€¦ šŸ˜€ looking back Reno was a much bigger wasting of my money, not because of quality but because of the price tag and the fact that Iā€™m not racing there at all. (after I realised that no matter how smooth I fly, there is a level of players who are giving me like 3-5 secs per lap, another group on the same level with me, and an other, who have really no idea what they are doing. of course I was aiming to the first group, watched a lot of tutorial videos but there was no way to improve so I gave up)

BUT! back to the Fokker, now I have it, so I will torture myself with several flight on her deck in Australia, then Iā€™ll place her somewhere at a dark corner in my hangar. šŸ˜€

PS: Not even smoke effect during startupā€¦ Asobo added smoke, third parties are even updating their add-ons to have smoke, their official plane doesnā€™t have smokeā€¦ omg, such a shameā€¦ I hope ATSimulations is doing a way better job with the An-2!
