I don't even think boutique growers have to grow super exotic strains. Just grow the strains that sell out at the dispensary. Runtz, Forbidden fruit, MAC 1, Apple Fritter, etc.
I would also make the assumption that these strains that always sell out at my dispensary are going to be different in another area. So you have to know your area demographics costomers. As it would make little sense to grow an exotic strain from Michigan if no one in California is interested
I mean markets are failing across the board, this isn't unique to the cannabis industry.
Also at least here in California the market is oversaturated. In my immediate area I have more cannabis dispensary options than I do fast food
Really great analysis. Another contributor to market collapse may be people growing their own product. Each new grower subtracts a customer from the market. And unlike wine, the barrier to entry is <$100.
