  1. Gold is the most pretentious food additive there is. Truffles are pretentious, but at least they have flavour. Gold adds nothing to food except for cost. You're literally just eating money.

  2. Haha love this episode! 🤣 still need to find this crab because I have in no way shape or form heard of it and I love Russian food 🥰 Also those dates are expensive but being half Middle Eastern, getting dates (with nuts inside) as a gift is literally like getting the DELUXE box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates ! 😅😂🫒

  3. £130 POUNDS FOR THOSE DATES?!!!!! In my country we can get the same thing for like £15 ish. And we get an extra flavour of candied orange. I'm sorry to say you got ripped off.

  4. I have to say I’ve tried Bateel’s dates before… when talking pretentious, this takes the cake as the most pretentious thing ever… the dates itself is not the best in the market and you can get much better quality dates with much less price… I think they over price their dates with the things they stuff it inside or with the box… We have “almond” stuffed dates in my house like all the time… You can do much much better with much less!!!

  5. A KG of very premium dates in the country of export costs around 70 pounds. To charge that much money for a box that contains maybe 200g of dates is not pretentious. It's insane.

  6. Something being just expensive doesn't necessarily make something pretentious. Its when it is expensive for the sake of being expensive. When you claim it is the most premium or premiums, nothing else could ever compare, it cures all of your ailments, and is covered in gold for some reason.. thats pretentious. Expensive crab isn't pretentious. Expensive alcohol with gold in it is pretentious..
