These Are The Best Liberal Freakouts And Meltdowns About Elon Musk Buying Twitter
Verified liberal personalities were in total pants-wetting meltdown mode following Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, even as the Tesla CEO vowed to support free speech amongst his worst critics.
Musk acquired the social media platform in a $44 billion deal expected to close at some point this year.
He celebrated the move on the platform itself and promised to be a champion of free speech.
“I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means,” tweeted the social media company’s new African-American owner.
But the left being the left, they weren’t too thrilled about such a concept – but they provided us with perhaps the best entertainment since Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016.

Elon Musk Vows Free Speech on Twitter, Liberals Are Terrified
Liberal columnist Shaun King of Black Lives Matter fame said Elon Musk’s free speech takeover of Twitter was all about “white power.”

“At its root, @ElonMusk wanting to purchase Twitter is not about left vs right,” King wrote. “It’s about white power.”
Numerous other verified accounts vowed to leave the platform altogether, a promise about as binding as their pledge to move to Canada after Donald Trump’s election.
They will… even though they claim to be leaving.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki conveyed to reporters that President Biden is “concerned” about the power of social media companies.
It should be noted that Twitter, along with other platforms, helped steer the election toward Biden in 2020 by censoring stories that would have been detrimental to his campaign. Now, suddenly, there’s a problem.

The Media Research Center has documented over 640 examples of material critical of Joe Biden having been banned or censored in some manner on Twitter over the past two years.
“MRC Free Speech America tallied 646 cases in its CensorTrack database of pro-Biden censorship between March 10, 2020, and March 10, 2022,” they reported. “The tally included cases from Biden’s presidential candidacy to the present day.”
In a two-year time span, Big Tech censored President Joe Biden’s critics 646 times.

And that’s why the left is fired up. Controlling the narrative is how they win elections. And man, were they ever fired up.
Former Democrat presidential candidate Howard Dean screamed ‘his truth’ and said he’d be off the platform within a few hours of Musk taking over.
Hi Twitterverse. Many thanks for the knowledge and sharing over the past ten years or so. If Musk takes over Twitter I will be off within a few hours. Might be just as well for my well being but I’ve learned a lot of valuable stuff from many of you.Thank you all. Howard

NBC News reporter Ben Collins, who said he covers “extremism and lies for a living,” claims Twitter is heading down that path now that Elon Musk has vowed free speech on the platform.
If Twitter is headed towards ‘extremism and lies’ then they’d be nearly indistinguishable from say … NBC News.
There are plenty of models for where this site is likely headed. I’m on those sites all day. I cover extremism and lies for a living. You’re not gonna like it.

CNN’s Brian Stelter admitted he’s kind of freaked out by the concept of “freedom for everybody.”

There are numerous other examples of leftists, Democrats, and mainstream media personalities up in arms over the Musk move.
This deal is dangerous for our democracy. Billionaires like Elon Musk play by a different set of rules than everyone else, accumulating power for their own gain. We need a wealth tax and strong rules to hold Big Tech accountable.

Well, I’m out. I will now use Twitter like I use Facebook: only for promo purposes, to post my columns, tv and speech appearances, and book info. No “content” specifically for it, or created on it. 1/3 https://t.co/H1vNA7lv2X

When an oligarch buys a communication platform to distribute rightwing propaganda that’s not democracy.

As Fox News contributor Joe Concha explains, the true left-wing meltdown isn’t due to Musk’s ownership of Twitter itself, it’s the idea that a major social media platform might not squash stories that are problematic to Democrats in power.
If I needed a reason to justify leaving Twitter, the fact that @RonDeSantisFL is endorsing @elonmusk may be all I need to do so. I’m going to have to think about this long and hard. I’ll let you all know my decision soon.

Twitter Employees Are Beside Themselves
Even amongst all of the above foaming at the mouth, the biggest freak out might have been coming from Twitter employees themselves worried about Elon Musk’s bid to turn them into a free-speech platform.
New York Times economic reporter Talmon Joseph Smith documented some of the internal grumblings, including one employee who felt they were “going to throw up.”
Its “absolutely insane” @ Twitter right now in the virtual valves of private slack rooms & employee group texts, according to an internal source. Their take/breakdown just now:
“I feel like im going to throw up..I rly don’t wanna work for a company that is owned by Elon Musk”…1/— talmon joseph smith (@talmonsmith) April 25, 2022
Software engineer Addison Howenstine tweeted that Musk’s takeover was “dangerous for democracy.”
Geraint Davies, another software engineer for the company tweeted: “Anyone in need of a software engineer with 40 years of experience? Asking for a friend.”
Cassie Nick Rumbaugh, a data scientist at Twitter, wrote weeks ago that she is “terrified” over the prospect of Musk serving as CEO.

According to the Daily Mail, numerous employees voiced concern about having to leave their homes to go to work in the office.
“Employees bombarded the site and internal message boards with attacks on Musk, and raised fears they would now be forced to stop working from home under the new regime,” they wrote.
Journalist Yashar Ali expanded a bit on those concerns.
2. Lots of questions about work from home…Twitter has become a permanent work from home option company and there are concerns about @elonmusk‘s statements/actions in the past about work from home and whether that will continue when he takes over.

In fact, it’s so bad that developers were blocked from the Twitter app for fear of sabotage.
“Twitter has blocked its developers from making changes to the app to prevent it being sabotaged by left-wing staff angry at Elon Musk’s” takeover, the Daily Mail writes.
Fox News personality Tucker Carlson points out that the Elon Musk freak out has led to “tyrants” grieving.
“Who are the tyrants? They’re anyone who is bothered by the idea that other people might get to talk. That is an unfailing test. It’s 100% accurate,” Carslon said during his Monday evening broadcast.
“Would you allow people who disagree with you to talk?” he continued. “If you wouldn’t, you were a tyrant and tonight the tyrants are grieving.”
Carlson then mocked the tyrants by showing a video he claimed was taken “inside Twitter headquarters.” In reality, it was a mashup of Clinton supporters crying and distraught over the results of the 2016 election.
“Sorry. Wrong tape,” he quipped.
On that note, Carlson’s Twitter account was reinstated hours after Musk purchased the Twitter platform.
“We’re back,” he wrote.
We’re back.
