Perfect way to build a wardrobe of perfumes cherry picked by category ! and as always respect your industry knowledge and preferences in scents. Looking forward to more of the perfection series… and the knowledge you impart . Clear confident communication as opposed to cloudy descriptions on other channels
HI…What do you think of Encre Noir Sport which I wear at the Gym?
I would have added Creed Royal Oud for the cedar note, and the earthy rootiness the angelica gives it. If one other would have to be removed to make way for it I would take out Tom Ford Oud Wood.
I've heard Tam Dao referred to as the first word and the last word in woody fragrances. Its very good but does not perform well. Frederic Malle French Lover is pretty good too.

A series on fragrance categories is a great idea! You mentioned citrus, flowers and woods. I was hoping you could do a video on incense scents as well.
I also really like sandalwood. To me, the most genuine scent of this wood is found in Acqua di Parma's SANDALO. A long-lasting fragrance that sorounds you with a solomn, religious aura. I associate the scent with oriental temples.

I love Tam Dao. I got the chance to smell it about 2 weeks ago.
I bought a sample of Black Afgano and wore it a few times. It’s too heavy for me, and because it’s so strong it’s something you’d better love because you’re stuck with it until you shower again 😅. Duro is probably more my style in the Nasomatto range.

In wonderwood the black pepper is a little bit sharp and overpowering apart from that it’s good and and long lasting fragrance

The only fragrance with guaiac wood that I’ve came across is only the Gaiac 10 by Le Labo. It’s gorgeous, but unfortunately too expensive and the projection is kind weak on me..
Is there any other guaiac perfume that you’ll recommend?
Good video Ashley. Love Oud Wood, but unfortunatley pulls a disappearing act on me after 1 hour or so. Have to try Wonderwood from this list. Can't wait for the summer list.!

Hi Ashley – sorry to hear you're not feeling too well, but if you'd like a friendly piece of advice from someone who was laid low with a certain 'bug' – get yourself water soluble vitamin C (1000mg) and take it on the hour every hour. It sounds extreme, but it does help your immune system to counter-act whatever 'bug' you have within your system. You'll know when your body has topped up with vitamin C, as it will start getting rid of it. When that happens, just take it every two hours. Rinse and repeat, basically. Vitamin D and Zinc daily are great ways to bolster your immune system. People will argue that you get enough vitamin D from the sun, but as we age, the body's production of vitamin D slows down until it reaches a point (usually when we hit 50) where no amount of sun will give us the vitamin D we need, so supplementation is the way to go.
Hope you recover soon – just remember: think healthy, be healthy. Appreciate the videos, have a great Easter.

I'm have and love Matiere Premiere Santal Austral and also Creed Royal Oud which smells much more woody than oudy to me. Great video. Hope you feel better soon 😊

Have not tried Encre Noire a l extreme. I have original and for me its perfect when its cool and raining outside. Smells like a walk in the woods when its raining but you also smell like burned wood.
