  1. A political prisoner? I'm not gonna jump to conclusions…all I want to know is what can Russia ask for, for holding a basketball player hostage? What can America give for them to release Brittney? It's an unfortunate situation, its people right here in America that has got more time here for less, he says 10 like it's not people right here doing 20 and 30 years for drugs, and name me the last male basketball or celebrity for that matter who was arrested in another country for smuggling drugs, and got off? I'll wait……it's not a black or white, male or female thing, sometimes people make bad decisions, maybe she was setup, who knows, thing is it's hard to not check your bag before you load it though

  2. Maybe Russian drug laws are racist? Or not letting her bond out is racist? Or maybe africanAmerican basketball players are disproportionate in prison compared to their over-all percentage Russian population?
Other countries dont care about the corny, fake cries of racism. Be glad she's in a middle of the road country like Russia, and not being sent to the work camps in China, or some central American prison to rot and die. In Indonesia she could face the death penalty, in the Philippines she probably would.

  3. Ya'll hear the hypocrisy 5:16 when he say innocent until proven guilty, but before that he was introduced as a spokesman for 'democracy now' ? In a democracy everyone is guilty until they can prove their innocence. That's why everyone believes people are guilty when accused, it's been propagated for so long it's now accepted by morons who can't think for themselves. America is a republic, and is so because the founder's had rejected democracy for that reason.

  4. Look anyone in the state dept. Doesn't think ol' vlad doesnt know what "trophies" are in his country should be fired. There was a 1 week window where they could have done this quietly and that time has past

  5. This sounds just like the situation with a Red Headed girl Maria Butina from Russia who was locked up in solitary for a year because Russia Russia Russia Russia.
Being arrested in the USA for someone who is not a citizen is a rather terrifying experience as you have no rights at all None!

  6. Ummm political prisoner??? Can we maybe look up the definition first? Or are we just gonna ride the “Putin bad” train and say “political” to clickbait?
I mean look, as someone living in Russia currently, I think weed laws are waaay too strict. But hey, it’s not a death sentence as it is in Singapore for example.
She was caught at the airport with zip lock bag with her vapes and oil cartridges, I saw the security cam footage. The dog smelled it on her and that’s why they even asked to check her bad in the first place. Personally, I blame the dog.
I agree that she shouldn’t do time in Russia and should be extradited. It seems crazy to me that Russian government should be financially responsible for foreign citizens jail upkeep.
    But…. POLITICAL prisoner? Smh

  7. Max, you didn't make it clear why she was being held in Russia in early February. Sounded like she had vials of hash oil in her bag…or was it just the smell of hash oil the dogs sniffed on her bag? In any event she will have her day in court same as in US.

Btw. saying she is in :good condition" is annoying. Tell us if she is in jail or out on bail or under home arrest. You are not being fair to your listeners when you "hide" these details.

  8. No she ain't. This should be a message to everyone in the USA. USA isnt the world. What is accepted in America isnt accepted in most countries in the world.

  9. Let’s cut the shit, if you play in Russia you know you been paid blood money, that’s why they pay more… why Americans are so racist… everything has to do with race? Every white Easter European knows, not to go to Russia, never trust Russian, don’t break any laws in Russia if you must be there because they will use it as an opportunity. That American girl acted stupid in a country that is an aggressor for at least 8 years and of course it’s race… how simple you are guys?

  10. While I agree with your conclusions that she shouldn't be serving jail time for cannabis, I disagree with your framing of this issue. The hypothetical involving Tom Brady is just an assumption and demand of U.S. exceptionalism and subsequent imperial privilege at work. What does this mean in the larger scale of things, what if she got high and ran over and killed a Russian child. Should the U.S. government still be involved in getting her released. Should this work backwards, that citizens of other countries where laws differ from U.S. should get to live according to the laws of their own country in U.S., marry child brides, beat their wives, practice honor killings etc. Russia is a sovereign state with its share of draconian and stupid laws so she isn't a political prisoner any more than she would be if she was caught doing something illegal in U.S. even though the laws could be utterly stupid.
You don't disagree with the statement that she was caught with evidence of drug use which is why it becomes problematic that you want the special treatment that Brady should theoretically get in similar circumstances. Stupid laws are a matter of discussion so is the demand for an expansion of a privilege to American female sports stars that their male counterparts enjoy. This is problematic on more than one level imho.

  11. I remember driving through Arizona with cannabis in the car. I was very nervous and never will I do it again. Nor would I go across a border especially into a nation with draconian penalties in the possession of weed. Hope she escapes the penalty.

  12. I just resubbed to TRNN after a year or two of not being subscribed. Now I'm realizing it was a mistake to re-sub. This is propaganda that intentionally lacks context to produce a specific view.

  13. No she broke Russian law and brought drugs into the country. She is lucky she is famous ,he treatment is good . In phillipines or Singapore it is a death sentence.

  14. As someone who lives in a local where drugs are legal to possess I have to say that traveling with them and getting caught was a dumb move whether it was an accident, or for personal use, and especially if it was for distribution. She is not a political prisoner she is a criminal who was incarcerated. Always adhere to local laws. Calling her a political prisoner doesn’t help anyones situation and takes away from your own credibility. Period. Point blank.
