Watch Hillary Clinton’s Reaction To Being Asked About 2024 Presidential Run

On Tuesday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton dismissed the idea that she might run for president again when asked by co-host Mika Brzezinski.

Clinton made her remarks during an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” on a segment where hosts Scarborough and Brzezinski congratulated Clinton for receiving an ‘International Women’s Day’ award.

Clinton Laughs

Brzezinski opened the segment with Clinton’s ‘Forbes International Women’s Day Lifetime Achievement Award’ – the first ever such award – “to commemorate her leadership and influential voice on the global stage in advancing the cause of women and fighting for gender equity.’

Quite a mouthful!

Brzezinski then explained that she spoke with Clinton about Ukraine, and “the men responsible for all this brutality,” delivering the last line with an absolutely straight face as though Clinton weren’t responsible for her share of brutality – in Libya and Syria, for example.

Some have speculated that President Joe Biden might not run again in 2024 leaving the door open to a host of prospective Democratic candidates. Clinton has been bandied about by some as a possible option.

But on Tuesday, she acted as if her running for president again wasn’t likely.

Brzezinski asked Clinton, “And love the message 50 over 50, because for younger women they have such a long runway. But speaking of that, are you open to running for president again?”

Clinton chuckled.

“No,” Clinton replied.

Brzezinski interjected, “Oh, come on. Just…”

“No, no,” Clinton responded, laughing.

Clinton: ‘I am certainly going to be active in supporting women running for office and other candidates who I think should be reelected or elected, both women and men’

The former first lady responded, “No. But I — no. But, I am certainly going to be active in supporting women running for office and other candidates who I think should be reelected or elected, both women and men, because I think, you know, there’s a big debate going on, as you know so well, Mika, in our country, but in other countries as well, about the future of democracy, of economic opportunity, of climate change, of health, and other important issues.”

“So, I will stay active in all of those doings,” Clinton added.

Making her partisan leanings perfectly clear, Brzezinski told Clinton, “We need you. Madam Secretary, I thank you.”

“It’s valuable to have your insight at a time like this,” Brzezinski added.
