  1. A healthy baby is not all that matters and we need to throw that language in the bin, its isolating and undermines the weight of birth trauma. More than physical health matters.

Wishing you a healing second birth one day (which feels a billion years away when you have a newborn lol) your feelings are all very valid❤️❤️

  2. Thank you for sharing your birth story! I completely agree that it’s healthy to process your feelings when things don’t go as planned. I also wanted an entirely natural birth with my first baby, and ended up having to have a c-section. One of my sister-in-laws was very insensitive to me and told me to just get over it.

  3. This whole "healthy baby is all that matter" is so toxic. I read a book called "giving birth like a feminist" before giving birth that it talked exactly about that. I also prepared so much to have as much a natural process as possible, and it did not quite go to plan, it all went so fast… My husband recorded the process and I have watched that video a million times to properly understand what happened and getting into terms with it.

  4. When I look back on each of 5 births each have things I wish had done or happened differently even tho may have sounded like an ideal natural birth on paper
Very wise to talk it out.

  5. I gave birth 3 weeks ago. I remember being in the room trying to decide if I want an epidural. I heard a woman next door screaming like she was dying (she had a natural birth), I was like nope give me all the drugs you got. Took 3 hours of pushing though, I was so numbed out. My experience was horrible, the midwife told me to not make any noise even though I was in pain. This was at a well reputable hospital too… baby ended up in NICU for 2 weeks…

  6. My first baby is due in a little over a month and I would love to have a natural birth. Watching videos like yours though definitely reminds me things may not go how I want them too and to be prepared for that. You are a very strong woman and may God bless you and your family
