  1. Through decades of no enforcement the system has revolved to what it is today falls all under " this is thailand" today no one leaders, police, population has no clue what the law suppose to be it is based on nonsense, rumors like as long as there isn't more than 5 person in the crosswalk guess you can run over everyone if less? I once heard a captain tell a friend because you have money you will feel better if you pay up. I humor him and said I would feel better if I slap you across the face told him your job is to apply the law not make up some stupid stuff next time you call my friend in we will bring our lawyer. 2 years never heard a word for an accident the Thai admitted she was in the wrong, they wanted cop, insurance agents ask for 200,000 baht. I think every foreigner can see what is wrong and why it can't be fixed!

  2. in Thailand ZebraCrossing are just considered EXTRA Space for Motorcycles waiting for the RACE to start :/
NEVER NEVER NEVER expect a Thaidriver to Stop for a pedestrian on the Zebra Crossing … NEVER!!!!

  3. This describes the current situation in Thailand very good and the military regime in Bangkok has nothing better to do as blocking all foreigners (tourists) with outrageous silly laws every day who just want to come to Thailand for holiday: It doesn't matter which party is in power. You cannot change the mentality of people: false smiles, corruption, nepotism, lack of respect for others, selfishness, murders forgiven just because a person decided to become a monk for a couple of days – it will all remain the same as before. What difference does it make which party is in power if all you care about is the front lawn of your own house? Think about it this is the work of the Thai military regime which is under control of the palace influencers in Bangkok.

  4. They are very poorly painted and the Thai's pretty much ignore them anyway. The Junta need to upgrade them and also stop giving out driving licences in a lucky bag. My wife got her licence in 1 day having never driven a car in her life. Went to the government driving school in BKK around 5am, and by lunchtime had a full driving licence. Frightening…

  5. I still dont get it re: zebra crossings. To spend money on changing the laws instead of simply putting traffic lights up!!!! Simple!!! For that matter, improved traffic lights everywhere…and making drivers obey those and enforcement and penalties for running through lights. Now that makes sense.

Re: free condoms. "Choose realistically" Jett you said that with just a hint of cynical look. 5555

  6. Get a grip the main news is the comming war why are you not reporting on it. Dont say its nothing to do with thailandthats bull. China will join in if it happans and thailand will be in it and it will be world wR 3 report on it expats need to know inclueing YOU

  7. Easy solution to make these Zebra-crossings or what us, American call a crosswalk more effective. Forget the fine, since Thai police are well known for effective traffic laws enforcement. Just install speed bump(s) on all these pedestrian crossings (Painting on the street!), voila! No more speed-racers… That's what they do in Iran.

  8. Until laws are enforced nothing will happen! Right now it's a hot topic! Though in your film clip when the police were on the zebra crossing some drivers still couldn't bother to wait. If drivers will do it still when it's a HOT TOPIC and the Police are on the crossings there is no hope for the future, for you average Thai driver it's business as usual! ENTER THE ZEBRA CROSSING AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

  9. Will there ever be traffic enforcement in Thailand? Between the suicidal scooters and reckless pickup trucks it's a wonder the fatality rate isn't even higher. They operate knowing that there won't be any penalties until they kill someone.

  10. Just to the Thaiger its all well and good that they heavy fine these driver's that cant bothered stopping at Zebra crossings.
Question is exactly how are they going to do that? Im sure many viewers would be interested to know. It could be easily accomplished by posting a cop at various crossings who then in turn radios ahead to a check point up the road not hard really.
Although i suspect this is wishful thinking, and after all this is Thailand.

  11. Every time somebody ask me if it is safe to travel to Thailand, I always tell them that the only thing I have to worry about is when I am trying to walk across the street. That is where I could get hurt or killed.

  12. Maniacs on the road there now if thai local governments don't fix zebra crossings and light the area up with amber lights also its pretty hard to force it all onto driver also, but saying this they need to slow the fuck down

  13. From a thai POV, on average, Thailand isn’t pedestrian safe and never has been. Thailand puts importance on class and money as a priority in our culture and doesn’t respect life due to life being so cheap. This is Thailand 🇹🇭

  14. Thailand can't do much to prevent covid deaths but they can do lots of things to reduce road deaths that kill far more people. Make sure everyone has insurance. Ban big bikes. Improve the roads, crack down on drink driving and make shure everyone wears a helmet.

  15. Why don’t they put crossing walk lights 🤷‍♂️…Thailand is a rich country 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  16. Oh, NOW you talk about road deaths. 6 months ago you were all COVID COVID COVID COVID.
The problem is there is no serious driving eduction, nor any meaningful enforcement, and Thai (MOST! NOT ALL NOT ALL) are emotionally very immature and drive with huge egos.

Every day I lose more respect for Thai witnessing the absolutely dumb things they do on the road
