  1. Such a coincidence. I saw Democracy 4 being released out of Early Access.

And lo and behold, you made an introductory playthrough of it! Perfect timing! So far, I love how your voice is ASMR and suits this style (love your suit btw!).

Aside that from, playing a political simulator makes me think about the state of Malaysia's own political climate. Makes my blood boil. Glad you got out and you're starting a new start in UK, Zakh!

  2. Does this game include the effects of ignoring/enabling or encouraging mental illness in the organization that is supposed to be designed to protect the nation?

  3. I'm interested in this game, but I'm wondering if it's a flexible simulation, or more like a complex puzzle game. For example, in this video it seems like in order to win over the USA, you have to be pro-capitalist. In that case, it's more like a puzzle game where you have to find the right groups to suck up to, rather than a simulation where you can try to mould a country to your own vision.

  4. Looks interesting, but makes me wonder:
    0) Is there mod support?
    1) Can you affect the number of people in different groups? Like run propaganda to reduce the percent of capitalists?
    2) If you ban, say, alcohol, does the effect on electors' approval scale with how much consumption there was? Like if you first tax it to the maximum and implement as they call it alcohol awareness campaign so that the consumption drops to the minimum, after everyone's got used to that they should have lesser opinion on the total ban because it would be a lesser change compared to if you banned it from the start.

2b) speaking of which, does the income from alcohol and tobacco tax scale with consumption? Or if you ban it completely, does the tax policy lose effect completely and disappear as redundant?
    3) In the list of policies to implement there are blue and red ones. At first I though the red ones are ones already implemented and red means you can cancel them, but I'm not sure, it doesn't exactly look like that? Maybe they are policies that are expected to be unpopular, or those you don't have enough political power to implement?

    > Visit aftermath of flood… success chance…
52%? Wow that's a lot. I imagined making a flood happen just in time for election to be more harder than organizing some shooting 😉

  5. Wow Italy and spain max difficulty? Damn, it's true that here there's pretty much 0 trust in the government, huge cultural and economic discrepancy between North and South, the mafia's power, and Liberals, conservatives and religious tear each other's heads off, but wow, i thought it was much worse in the US.

  6. The first thing I do is lower the military spending in America. Then I raise income tax. And then I make small adjustments here and there and eventually once we're out of debt then I lower the income tax.
I ended up having lots of issues, but in the end, I got the country out of debt and started making surplus and making mostly everybody happy. And created a egalitarian society.
Strangest problem I had was fake news, I basically had to take away democracy from America… There was too much democracy… Lol. I did that by restricting freedom of press. By like a lot… But I didn't want to make the liberals too unhappy so I gave them other things that would make them happy that wouldn't cause me problems.
Immigration is a problem… But the thing about that is it is very hard to balance, cuz the last thing I want to do is make one group of people unhappy… I basically made it really really hard to get into the country at one point and this made some racial tension… But I also fully funded the racial discrimination act and basically made it the harshest punishment possible to people who were racist.
My biggest supporters were the environmentalists, parents, middle income earners. And I had the most issues with self-employed, motorists, and wealthy folks.
I basically fully abolished motorists in the country to 0% membership.

The thing is is that you don't want to make everybody too happy because then they start getting complacent…. And complacency basically makes them think that you're still not doing a good job…. So don't make somebody too happy

  7. I recommend most politicians play these simulators before getting into office. It wouldn't be based on 'winning' in the game because it is just a simulator so it's not an accurate depiction, but it should test how some of our politicians truly understand what they are getting into office for and who gets effected and how by their decisions.

  8. Is the game an actual upgrade from Democracy 3? Looks like pretty much the same game.
And did they manage to avoid picking a side? Which I felt D3 managed to do pretty well.
I don't wanna buy the game and find that it clearly favors one side over another because the devs got TDS or something.

  9. This game plays into notions such as CO2 limits based on popular beliefs. I guess what would help if you could set certain principles and facts before you start the game such that these political viewpoints can be adjusted.

  10. The problem I have is that I only get 20 mins in to your video before I need to buy the game myself and play it – thus not wanting any further spoilers by watching the remaining 1hr lol. at least the referal link helps

  11. I played one of the earlier Democracy games a couple of years ago and wasn't very impressed. However, after watching your playthrough, I might give this new version a try. Well done, as usual.

  12. Wt….gaming? 👍democracy? 🗑 democracy gaming? 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 maybe if the game was accurate to democracy….i dont trust it 🤕🤒🤕🤢
