Global Elites Generated Double The CO2 For Latest Climate Conference
The elites’ climate hypocrisy is on full display.
Global elites jumped onto their private jets to attend the climate change conference in Glasgow.
They did this while lecturing everyday people about their carbon footprint.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos arrived in a £48 million Gulfstream followed by dozens of others all intent on discussing how we can limit our impact on the environment.
According to a report in MailOnline, over 400 private jets arrived in Scotland for the conference, causing a traffic jam that forced empty planes to fly 30 miles to find a space to park.
Crucially, one of the messages coming from the climate talks is that we should all fly less to try and cut down on emissions.
‘MailOnline observed at least 52 private jets landing at Glasgow – while estimates put the total number flying in for the conference at 400,’ the site reported.
‘Conservative predictions suggest the fleet of private jets arriving for Cop26 will blast out 13,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide in total – equivalent to the amount consumed by more than 1,600 Britons in a year.’
Partly due to this, the climate conference’s carbon footprint has soared.
The last conference, which was held in 2019, led to 51,101 metric tons of CO2 being emitted into the air.
This year’s conference emitted 102,500 metric tons of CO2.
It doubled!
The Washington Free Beacon reported:
The carbon emissions associated with the United Nations climate summit in Glasgow more than doubled from the last time the conference was held, according to a report commissioned by the British government.
The conference, which ends Friday, is estimated to contribute to the emission of around 102,500 metric tons of CO2e, a measure of greenhouse gas emissions, the Scotsman reported. The majority of those emissions came from international flights, as world leaders and delegates flew on private planes to the summit.
Those projected emissions more than double the carbon footprint of the last conference, which was held in Madrid in 2019. That summit only led to the emission of 51,101 metric tons of CO2e.
…
Environmental activists and critics slammed the conference for the gross emissions created by air travel.
“If COP26 is to deliver the bold change needed, then those involved should lead by example,” a spokeswoman for the Scottish Labour Party said. “Travel emissions were always going to be inevitable, but this stark rise will no doubt raise some eyebrows.”
Joe Biden was so worried about global warming that he was spotted falling asleep during the conference.
Trump mocked him over it:
