  1. Chia actually makes me constipated. I think it absorbs too much liquid from the colon and dries out the poop. It actually turns my bowel movements into small marbles no matter how much water I drink! Psyllium does the same thing. Everyone is different I guess.

But three months ago I bought a bag of dried unsweetened mangos from Costco. I have had an almost daily bowel movement since!     Saturated fats should be less than 10percent of calories but eating saturated fats is not needed to be healthy. But since he had a heart attack it would probably be wiser to just avoid saturated fats.

  8. If you're eating whole foods, you shouldn't need any help. As Dr. McDogall says, "Start with a starch, brown rice, potatoes, sweet potato, quinoa, etc, and add vegetable/fruit," you shouldn't have any problems. Flour/dry products, will give you trouble.
